Your programme will involve a 100 hours  teacher training placement where you will learn first-hand the skills needed to teach in a classroom setting. This practical experience is vital for all students, and you will be given opportunities to refine and enhance your teaching style through tutor and mentor support.

Two  of your modules are placement-based, with assessments taking place whilst you’re there through  4 formal observations of teaching . As part of the course, you will also be expected to attend a  conference at the University of Huddersfield held on  two days in the autumn and spring terms .

Before you begin your course, you’ll need to make sure you’re prepared with the right equipment. Many of our courses need specialist health and safety clothing, but we’ve made it simple - some of your essentials and college branded clothing can be bought from our online shop.

For your course, you will need:

  • A tablet, laptop or stationery to take notes in lectures and seminars
  • USB stick and / or portable hard drive.
