We will start to prepare you for your work placement (a minimum of 70 hours) in September and this must be completed before the end of the first academic year.

The programme incorporates a high quantity of transferable skills attractive to employers and covers some very broad issues relating to society, criminology and psychology.

With an increasing number of opportunities for successful application in the criminal justice sector; opportunities are occurring as special constables, voluntary action officers, civilians within the police force, Crown Prosecution Services (CPS), the probation service, rehabilitation and support for ex-offenders, to name just a few.

Before you begin your course, you’ll need to make sure you’re prepared with the right equipment. Many of our courses need specialist health and safety clothing, but we’ve made it simple - some of your essentials and college branded clothing can be bought from our online shop.

For your course, you will need:

  • A tablet, smartphone or laptop to take notes in lectures and seminars
  • Stationery
  • USB stick and / or portable hard drive
  • It is suggested that all students apply for an advanced DBS (roughly £44) for course and work-related activities.
